Our work often leads us to fund grants around initiatives for children and teens. We wondered if there were ways to bolster parent support in our own community. If parents are healthier and more supported, children would directly benefit.

The main mission of this initiative is the education and empowerment of young women in our community through philanthropy; but the bigger lessons are ours. Through the Girls Granting Initiative we learn from them directly, what issues and challenges they face. This makes us better equip to help make an impact.

The Women's Fund was honored to sponsor the recent “Women Who Build” event back Aug 15th at Read Elementary School to benefit the school’s new “destination playground” project. The event hoped to inspire the next generation that "girls can do anything!"
