2022 Power of the Purse Luncheon Keynote Speaker, Ginger Zee, Chief Meteorologist for ABC News.
Ginger shared her story and how it related to the growing need for mental health care services in our community and the nation. With the release of her New York Times best-selling memoir Natural Disaster: I Cover Them. I Am One, Zee brought readers along the immensely difficult path that took her from a depressed fledgling meteorologist to the first female chief network meteorologist at a network. She has overcome her “storms” – a string of misguided relationships, including a horribly abusive one, and a deep soul search that led her to check into a mental health hospital for ten days. Ginger left our audience feeling renewed, empowered and intensely moved by her raw, poignant chronicle of life as a Natural Disaster.
The Women’s Fund is extremely grateful for our amazing partnership with Community First Credit Union who has continually stepped us as Lead Sponsor for the Power of the Purse.
The Women’s Fund is taking a proactive approach in understanding the barriers parents are facing when it comes to finding and receiving services in the community. What resources are available to support parents? What gaps can be identified?
